The Dare

brokenpoet96

She was 15 the first time she felt it. Felt the warmth of love after heartbreak. It came from the man they said would never care, it came from the man that taught her to dare. Dare to dream, to hope, to heal, but most of all to love. With a love she felt would last... but for how long? With one move she broke it, with one move he was gone. Taking so much more than love, he was forced move on. The 6 by 8 cage that held all his pain. Held all the anger, and most of all shame. The family that told her he could never care locked her away too, to make sure she wasn't there. As trials began and the verdict dropped, so did the love that had once held their hearts. She was locked away to insure he was too, for her voice could not be heard without revealing the truth. She was once his but then it all changed, and on that day her heart was arranged. What it is now, most will never know, but was it was then was the breaking of a soul. The starting point of all her actions. Her ground zero was the dare that turned to reaction.
