Gifted A Curse

kaychee

Secrets I keep! Very deadly secrets I keep
Pen, paper not even words can describe
Trust me when I say they're really deep
I can't tell at least not with so little time

I have a friend who has a friend that has another friend
Who shared this story bout a girl that committed oh such an awful crime
So this other girl loved to sit alone to make her feelings rhyme
But she could tell no one cause she knew they'd think it was a waste of time

How she'd hide in corners, dark, cold and lonely just to put some lyrics down
A curse she was born with, this lyrical rhythm has caused her her social crown
Though she doesn't mind, knowing people differ with mental expression
Expressions really leading her to a Greater Depression

When my friends are gone, I ponder on her sad storyline
"The girl who was gifted a curse" could have been anyone's story or maybe even mine

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is basically a story of my life. How I don't feel like people around me really appreciate how I express myself using poems. So I end up just writing on my own in the hope that they wouldn't get to see it to tease me.
