Haunting Roses

Izzi Lynn

I am a shadow, strayed from bitter memory.
The chilling night sparks against my empty eyes.
In whispered words, I know not of time.
And this dream, of a child living
has since haunted me.

Remember the heavy sadness?
Remember the dark roses that once gave you and I stars in our hearts?
Since then, our faded wings have died.

Dark words find me in lonely moments.
What we had was an illusion worth a thousand thoughts.
One clear glance from you, and I could not smile,
your dazzled eyes and bright spirit make absolute night for me.
For those dazzled eyes hide an angry mind.
For that bright spirit hides a dark soul.
And centuries of mourning eyes make a suitable pillar from which is my downfall.
An execution of good shall make time turn to dust,
suffocated by smoke in bitter silence.

Through everything you have touched, you strangest thought can be seen,
even I, touched by you, reveals your thoughts and dreams.
Everywhere you walk remains your footprints

Your voice is not forgotten, but your silence is remembered well.
A rare dream, ensured by past lives, shows your touch upon me.
A reverie upon which reveals my deepest truthes.
