My Man in Camouflage

kaychee

You only live once
Life has no part two
It's time to count my losses
One, two, three... Though, I'm no fool

Would love to tell you all a story
About a man in camouflage
Oh how he tore my heart from my chest, he was a phony
But I wore his like a badge

Daily I would go on my knees to pray for him
And bless his every step
But now I curse the day I laid eyes on him
And how I fell to this depth

You're worth more than this my love
Voices would tell me in my head
My heart would say he was sent from above
Cause when he whispered to it, that's all it heard

Enough is enough
Snap out of this mirage
There's nothing you've not given up
For this man in camouflage

Are you going to feed off his deceitful words
For the rest of your life?
He's got you stringed up in blood stained chords
Drying you up after cutting you with a knife

So I pick up what's left of me
Even the tiny puzzle pieces
Remold myself to the woman I want to be
And fix me up in permanent stitches

I'm happy or at least I'll pretend to be
Till I achieve it
No longer on the pursuit of happiness
I'll just fake it till I make it...

I pray you find someone who loves you half as much as I do
Everyone deserves happiness
So that's my last prayer for you
