The Girl That Kept Dying until She Couldn't Live Anymore and Became A Ghost

Tomi Teresa Sweet

Where is that girl?
So exuberant
So innocent
Not a clue into the world's ways
Nor a notion of the peoples' nature
Not an inkling of society's disposition
Where is she?
So glad and proud
She'll get a rude awakening
Like an earthquake
Shaken up til everything is upside down
What's good is bad
Bad is the new good
Walked, ran, danced
Through
Rainstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes
Hollowed out
Left a ghost
Looking for something that was once here
Something that is now astray
Innocence gone
Happiness lost
Nothing left to hurt
Nothing to feel
The storms eroded away her soul
Nothing left
But
Her limp body
And a ghost
There is no girl
