To a Fellow Poet

lysistrata

You have buried your prophecies in a ghostly tragedy

While you play Hide and Seek in your boyhood diary.

If only you could feel some sympathy for the fallen patron

If only you could understand the morals of the greedy benefactor

Then you could breed a tree companion to dumb owls and caged souls.
