SLEEP

Berthold Lippel

i sleep a lot these days

practicing for the days ahead

i will be an olympic sleeper

dreamless

on my back

in a narrow bed

i plan to win a medal

the gold for sleeping

the fastest time

in infinite sleep

the cosmic anthem

wll play for me

a million bones

will applaud

but i will not

hear not

wake

up

You're going to have to go some to beat me, both in sleep, and death.

I liked your piece, it employes brevity with great effect.
