Dark Day

Reivax Camlost

I wept tears of ink onto that page, I cried

The day we sailed away on blackened tide

Fruitless words they washed away in frosty wind

Our home, I sobbed, to the raven at my side

The day I sailed from home they rang the bells and lied

At the podium they stood, and death's dirge defied

My god, forgive me, at least they tried

  • Comment from author about the poem: It's related to my poem "Forgive me, reader". I wrote them on the same day, with the same inspiration... while this one is a little darker than it's counterpart, I think it also paints a very vivid picture. If/when you figure out what this poem depicts, let me know... but don't say it on the comments, I want people to figure it out for themselves.

Fascinating Reivax. I'll have to give this one some thought. I'm not very used to thinking but you have got me doing so. Excellent work!!
