The Night

samishere

Her lips were soft, like falling into bed

after years of being away

With your hair gently swaying in the breeze

we ran through the midnight forest

Palm in palm and alive

we venture on through the night

You're pure escapism

piercing through my darkest clouds

Love is in your cheeks

you make the words come easy to me

Dying tonight with you by my side

I'll be in heaven, re-living my fondest night

  • Comment from author about the poem: We've all had that one night. You meet someone and suddenly no one else matters. One night can be all it takes to discover if someone's right for you, even if you later find out you were wrong, doesn't change how you felt that night. Feel free to leave comments.
