Understanding

Eeva

They don't understand anything,

They have no idea who I am,

They have only scratched the top,

And have yet to see beneath.

They think they know everything,

But in reality they don't,

They think they know what's best for me,

When it's the opposite of what I want.

They won't listen to me when I explain,

'Cause they think they know all of me,

They know what's best for me,

But they've got it all wrong.

I want to fit in with everyone else,

And I don't want to be popular,

And yet they want me to stand out,

And sit with the big group.

They think I like being alone 24/7,

When in reality: who does?

They think I'm alright,

But "I'm good" doesn't cut it.
