I may be drowning in chains
But I am free now, free as rain
I may cut my feet on the eggshells you force me to tread
But I am free now, no longer dead
I may be a "stuck up brat"
But I am free now, so good luck with that
I may take beatings and tear-downs
But I am free now, I can drown out your useless sounds

I MAY BE DEFIANT AND BAD
BUT AT LEAST I'M STRONG ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU MAD

 

Words can't shake me from my place
I've found my rightful space
Beatings and pain can't bring me down
I'm strong and proud
Each hurtful word you speak
Strengthens my resolve, I'm not meek
Each painful blow you strike
Fortifies my heart and gives me a mike
To scream into my feelings
I'm not your stupid puppet so stop trying to hurt me

 

I'm not hiding from you
I'm out of your shadow and I'm true
You can't push me down any longer
I've grown and gotten stronger
You can't make me cower in fear
