strange encounter

inink

It was a gray night…
Rain roaring,
Wind howling at the blood moon.
Certainly the end,
The end of something new..

It was a gray night,
Rain cleansing the earth in depth,
Wind blowing sins away
The sands of time have slowed near halt
The hands of time they aim to stop.

It was a night unlike any other
The scythe of death has found its match.
The hands of angels lay upon her,
She won’t go down without a fight.

They tug and pull with power and might,
A tug of war for death or life,
I felt the essence, a light unseen...
Her eyes bloom brightly
My hearts at ease.

  • Comment from author about the poem: It was a scary night when the person who owns my heart was on a hospital bed for hours after many tests and spinal taps no one knew what was wrong with her. Her temperature was off the charts, the doctors were speaking of death and the unknown. As a father I knew if she left I would too so I placed my hand on her tiny body and whispered in her ears ..." im with you don't be scared" as many times as possible in hopes that she could find peace in her battle. Shortly after she woke up and smiled at nothingness as if nothing ever happened... no one know what happened with her and 5 yrs later it has not happened again.
