A Puzzle

wordbyrdwriting

i can’t breathe

you’re intoxicating me

with the whisper of words

i feed upon myself.

an unsolved mystery

a puzzle in search of its pieces

you may find all but one

forever a piece is missing.

searching your heart and mind

you can’t seem to find

that missing piece.

i wonder how long it will last

digging through your past

to realize what was left behind.

forgotten, flawed, and fragile

regretfully, you see

it was always me.
