He's lost

SilverXball

A boy went missing, from across the street

I thought of him cold, with nothing to eat

Wandered too far, then he got lost

Thought to himself "What of the cost?"

What have I done? Where will I go?

Night was coming, sun was low

Forest too thick, no road in sight

Better stop now, moon is up, for it is night

He thought in despair "Will I ever get home?"

He settled down, tomorrow I'll roam

The sky was so dark, sky was so black

Family might think, "Will he ever come back?"

Call his name through the woods, his name to the sky

Promised themselves, not yet, would not cry

He's out there somewhere, ready to be found

Waiting for the moment he's safe and sound

One more call, one more cry

He'll emerge from the woods, safe and dry.
