Reds and Blues

wordbyrdwriting

our love began as a flame

and as we fed our desires

we became wildfire

glowing bright crimson

like the color of my heart

pumping blood for you.

and when you were gone

i sat until dawn

embracing the warmth

until you took away

that last bit of heat.

now when you’re missed

i swallow brittle ice

just to reminisce

how cold it became

the moment you left me.
