Oh, if only he were a dream

hysterialullaby

Silent and still we await

A brief moment before the thrill

To ignite an everlasting reign

Where the memories of him are supreme.

Oh, if only he were a dream!

A being of perfect delight with a character forever remaining unseen

Yet one rare night there he stood aloft, an empire at his feet, never to retreat

The memories of him after such a night were never to deplete

With only his voice to conquer and reign

A smile to comfort and bewitch, setting hearts alight and causing souls to twitch

Oh, if only he were a dream!

Each and every note rendering us to surrender at Saint Cecilia’s feet

We were castaway on a symphony of paradise, a musical retreat

His intelligence and style, an effortless elegance so irresistible no-one can ignore

Such a companion so impossible to ignore

Oh, if only he were a dream!

How can it be for such a man with only voice alone to behold such a throne

A baritone to conquer and encapsulate every emotion, until all form the same devotion

Oh, if only he were a dream!
