A Riveting Story

SheWasTheSun

You broke me. Did you forget?

Last time we both left with regret

But I took the wound and the scar

While you thought it out from afar

I suffocated from the smoke

Left by the flame you stoked

While you nurtured a new ember

How could you not remember?

I was nearly crushed under the weight

Of your love turned hate

While you ran wild like a summer storm

Reckless and dark, but somehow still warm

They say times change

Though to me, it seems strange

That you could have possibly missed

A riveting story like this
