OUR FATES ARE INTERTWINED

DubbleDhee

No man is an island, our fates are intertwined
An eye for an eye justice, leaves all of us blind

No one gets there alone, all of our lives are intertwined
Give someone new a hand up, not just your own kin and kind

No one really dies alone, our deaths are very much intertwined
Whether cop or civilian is killed, we lose a piece of our minds

No one eats or starves alone. Our access to food source is intertwined
A future leader may die from lack of food. We must make sure he dines

No one goes to war alone, the fallout from battle leaves us intertwined
The battle is borne by those who benefit the least. The one's who usually die

No one gets elected to office alone. Candidate and voter are tightly intertwined
They make decisions that affect us all. Don't disengage because of your pride

No one gets educated alone. Teachers and parent involvement are intertwined
Help kids out when they struggle. Team effort will keep them on their grind

No one should drink alone. Our health and wellness are intertwined
Take the car keys from your friend. Don't let him have too much wine

No one should be left alone. Our community relationships are intertwined
Check on your elderly neighbor sometimes. It really helps to be that kind

No one gets through life alone. The future of our existence is intertwined
No man or woman is an island. We thrive when we call ourselves mankind

Thanks for responding Tony. I was challenged to use the word "intertwined" in a poem and this is what it lead to. LOL! I appreciate the comment.
