Relevance Mattered.

kevin browne

relevance mattered when it got up and left you
tried your best to pull it back when it suited me
taken away when you left with some sorry sorrows
entered into a world of oaths and lies unfitting
searching high amongst your lows give the dog a bone
found upside down in a scary box of silent dreams
wishing you had a thought of something good you did
wondering your life away with whatever will be that won't
running away as fast as nearly the speed of your own sound
drowning in the fear that one day you might come back again
hearing the story of all your times that included nothing
with a peek-a-boo jack-in-the-box kinda angry smile
placed within the bureau of the world's largest hypocrite
facing a sentence sat with the devil tick-a-tock or two
feared by a monster that is ruled by self-destruction
whimpered away somewhere dark never to be seen again.
