Shallow Well

The 2 A.M Writer

Broken rock, buried dog

I have no time to tell you

Yesterday was it tomorrow?

I've lost a sense of time in this spiral

The winds don't give a hint of emotion

A calm storm internally raging and breaking

A book full of pages scribbled in chicken heads

Can you decipher me, please?

Just please read my sundial so it tells you the real time

Do you only communicate for rations?

Another hit for your addiction?

It's okay, I'll be your cellar if you love me

Damn this pain that flows in my bones

It chills and numbs my fingers

My toes dipped in ice again and again

I'm only here for so long

Back into my box I go

Waiting to hopefully, be wound back up
