Doll in Wonderland

I know myself well.

A simple fact that starts out with you in admiration,

But burns out and wears thin,

Given enough time.

Your arrogant charm,

Or maybe just the way you say my name,

Something about you

Unravels me

And destroys me

You make me question my worth

Question your interest, your intentions

And the investment of time

Or effort

Into this strange dance,

Where we seem determined to step on each other's feet

Breaking toes

Breaking hearts

Well, maybe not yours

So here I stand

Hoping that you won't ask me to dance after all

Or that maybe I can untangle you,

From me

Since I will never really have you

And you're making me lose me
