There's a place in the town which I call mine
called "Star Yard" though there was no kind of sign,
So in a one kind of phase I indulged in a kind of caper...
And acquired a piece of sticky paper
Where I wrote "Star Yard" and stuck it on the wall
Where the name had been written many years before.
Star Yard was named after a pub many years ago
which had had its name, but who would have known?
But yet for the sake of heritage and such
Naming it as such mattered to me so much.
The Civic Society of St Ives would surely approve
Of somebody of the town making such a move?
(I hope).
And anyway it resolved my OCD and made it go
(This and that must be "just so").
