Living life as an addict

Pierce_The_Ky

“Bloody thighs,

Cut wrists,

Rope tied,

gun cocked,

pills popped,

Alcohol shots taken,

injected by needles,

Burned skin,

cigarette buds,

broken pipes,

Smoking cannabis,

 knifes covered in blood,

razors rusting,

These are the ways you are killing yourself,

You finally get clean of these things,

Your craving your way of dealing with pain after a bad day,

You relapse,

You break trust with everyone,

One day you take it to far,

And you die from,

Overdose,

Cut veins,

Severe burns,

Alcohol poisoning,

A gun,

Hanging yourself,

Used needles,

You’re lucky if you survived this war,

And you finally got clean,

This is the life of an addict.“

  • Comment from author about the poem: "This poem, it means something to me. I've had struggles with self harm/substance abuse for a really long time. So I wrote this to get my feelings out because I was wanting to relapse." -Ky.
