Being born a man in a world of sinful desire
Never thinking the days would end
All he could see is the fire.
What he did and what he knows.
so subtle like when the wind blows,
The tricks came natural to him
as if he got it from birth on a whim.
A child is all they saw
yet the truth was nothing but raw
He kept quiet, watched, waited, and listened
biting the bullet that truly glistened,
but why did the bullet that he bit shine so bright
it was because that was the same bullet he used
through the passage to earn the right.
Or so he thought its what it took to become a man,
never showed tear yet he was left hollow
what is he truly, beast or boy, man or child,
these things go hand and hand.
Who does he need to follow.
What does it take to become a man!
Now whats left is lead in his mouth,
questions and dreams swirling in his head.
Blood on his hands of someones spouse.
But its what a man does right?
You bite that bullet, its whats right....right?

- Comment from author about the poem: Story about a boy who does something hes not proud of but he thought its what he needed to do as a right of passage as a man, but now he doesnt know what to do. The message can be different, it can be literal or metaphorical, depending on the reader. My first poem so let me know what guys think really.
