Musings on Relationships and Love
For the most part single people want to be married and married people want to be single.
Marriage is a series of compromises to the point at which each person is resentful they have given up too much.
Just because you love someone doesn't mean they will love you back.
You can't make someone else's heart feel something it doesn't, just like you can't stop your own heart from feeling something it does.
True love is giving someone the freedom they need even if it means they end up leaving you for someone else.
Love is the only emotion that takes over the brain and makes you do things you would never normally do.
I believe in love at first sight, but that's not the only type of love that matters. It's also no guarantee it will last.
You didn't make me love you. It was a choice my heart made and there's no guarantee you will feel the same.
There are three types of singles: those that are seeking sex, those that are seeking a relationship, and those that are seeking self-enlightenment.
Just because I loved you once doesn't mean I will be waiting for you when you finally decide you love me.
I'm here. I've always been here. The question is whether I will still be here when you realize it.
I'm not afraid to say I love you. I'm afraid of what you'll say back.
Most people aren't ready to be in a relationship. They are just seeking to fill the holes within themselves.
Your soulmate isn't necessarily the person you end up with.
Just because you love someone is no guarantee you will always love them.
No one knows if love will last. You just have to take a leap of faith and ride the wave as long as you can.
If you are in a relationship and you fall in love with someone else you have a choice to make as to whether you will act on those feelings. If you decide to act you should end the relationship you are in first.
If you are in love with someone and they don't love you that way, can you still be friends? Possibly, but if you decide to try prepare for your heart to hurt and make sure it is worth it. Try to fall out of love with them and think of them as your family. Good luck. You might just end up with the best friend you ever had.
When you say you love someone it releases pleasure sensors in the other person. Unless they don't love you, then it just creates panic.
If love is blind then what does the other person look like when love wears off?
You can love your friends and family. But if you fall in love with someone, don't neglect the other people you love. You will regret it when your being in love wears off.
You can love me all you want. It won't make me love you.
When you're in love you have to try to remember you might not always feel that way. Just like if you're not in love it doesn't mean you never will be.
When you are in love all your other feelings are heightened. Joy feels more joyful, pain feels more painful. Over time the brain gets used to it and those feelings dissipate in intensity. In other words, reality sets in.
Sex is no longer an outcome of love even though it should be. These days sex is looked at as a recreational activity independent of love or even a relationship.
If you are in love with someone but can't be with them for whatever reason, you shouldn't get into another relationship. It isn't fair to the next person.
We can never know what's in another person's head or heart. We can only know ourselves.
Just because you have been hurt in your last relationship, it doesn't give you license to treat the next person badly. Be kind and considerate of people 's feelings. You know how it feels to be hurt so show some empathy.
