When We Met / Saying goodbye

Reivax Camlost

There came a light, a heat, a motion

In your eyes, silent devotion

A pearl crown placed on your worry

Or a pearl gown, from a storybook story

We were together, one last time

Beneath a ballroom, yours and mine

Our eyes together, line by line

Dancing around, no need to hurry

Wonder profound, one joyful flurry

We never knew another way to say

Good-bye

  • Comment from author about the poem: The eyes... are the window to the soul. Poetry is merely a crowbar. maybe it's a fine chisel, I don't know. To each his own.

thanks, feedback is always important. What, if anything in particular, made it stand out?

I guess it was the moment you look into someone's eyes and see devotion toward you. That is a very special moment. But all things fade despite our best efforts.

        yeah.

I try, in my writing, to capture the painful moments of life.

the little pains of joy, the deeper pains of moving on towards greater things, the bright, sharp pains of learning something new, and as always, the bittersweet pains of looking into someone's eyes, and seeing what they feel hidden within.
