She

Noel

She walks down the hall with her head down,

trying not to be noticed, ridiculed.

She can't be noticed. No. They can't see her,

they couldn't possibly understand.

She can't get out of their way though she tries,

they're around every corner, waiting.

She tries to duck into another hall, anywhere,

anywhere but around them, mocked.

She tries to ignore all the eyes on her as if,

as if she was anything that should be seen.

She knows what is happening when they stare,

they are mocking her, pulling a trigger.

She dreams of leaving yet without a place to go,

no comfort zone to cross over into.

She wants to be asleep because then it'd be fake,

tucked into some corner of her imagination.

She can never sleep, though, because they'd find her,

even in her best dream, they linger and cause pain.

She gets on the bus and they are there(imagine that),

they call her names, make jokes, and throw things.

She just sits and takes it, because they are just kidding,

but it still gives her the scars, makes her bleed.

They make me cry.
