Roadkill

Emile Dubois

I am all that never was

with a mangled heart and soul

I no longer have wings that fly

Taken all too abruptly from life

Past pleasure do I disdain

No more confidantes to nullify the pain

No more a harbinger of thoughts

No more a person just a bitter fake
