Despair And I

Emile Dubois

Wherever I go

Whenever I go

I am followed

Through wind and rain,

Hell and high tide

My love and I

Never to be rejoined

Only a shadow

That is cast from a memory

A silhouette of some painful episode

The darkness in extent

Despair! I unearth you

A pale form of a former self

Shrouded encased and enveloped

I exist only in time

My best days behind me

And the future I no longer yearn

That must have hurt a lot. Nice.
