If anyone asked
what was special to me
I would probably say
a tall birch tree
If anyone asked
how I was doing today
I would probably ignore them
and be on my way
If anyone asked
the things that I do
I would probably glare
and stare back at you
I have no time for questions
that people don't need
it won't make a difference
it's not a good deed
If anyone smiled
and glanced in my way
I would probably run
run far away
for I am not used to kindness
given this free
so I turn heel, stead
and keep to myself, and me
If anyone gave me
any single thing
I would probably hide
Until I have something to bring
So if anyone came
and asked me a question
I would give them an answer
then end our short session
I have no time for gifts
laughs, smiles, or wasted time at all
So say it straight to me
Not a single syllable drawl
