A Nomad Known to the World

The New Cry Atlantic

He is known by many.

A man attempting to please those who do not deserve,
Yet knowing the circumstances still fights to find peace
in the eyes of those who do not care.

He knows not why he tries so hard,
He only wishes to have true company.

His presence to be noticed,
His words not spoken over.

Too many came and left,
Taken what they needed from a man who gave too much.

They only saw what he had,
Never who he was.

He called it his own fault.

He was never what they wanted him to be.

He knows it will keep happening,
He may never find someone to keep him company.

Just more people to come and go.

Like the hundreds before.

But its just the life of a man like me.

A nomad known to the world.

I believe you are describing a people pleaser, or at least that is the way I read it. It is an affliction hard to shake. Other's needs are more important than your own. It is very tiring and depressing. Thanks for sharing this nicely crafted poem..
