Holes

The 2 A.M Writer

Creep back in my needle

I'll re-inject you and you know it

Smile that smile and hush my cold

But that finger will turn to stem again

Thorn latch my skin

Tear back new holes alongside the old ones

Like a fish deceived by bait

But even I knew this was to unfold

...

Who the fuck was I to know?

Fuck it, I did know

..

Now again buried

I'm broken again

Barely any air down here

But since I was here before.

I already know where to look for holes

  • Comment from author about the poem: About how when someone screws you over, and then they want to come back and you can't help but let them back in again, even though you know you'll be hurt again. It's just a never ending cycle of broken trust that you can't be rid of
