Twice Is Never Shy.

kevin browne

I hear it as people sit down next to me and say
that the world they know seems unapparent to me
fetched from far long gone, old stories bewitched
and sat high upon the altar of a wisdom doomed
which in turn a descent is common in failure
an unspoken word that is amiss unless you touch it
sprouted out as the air filled with gossips and lies
very touching indeed if ever there was and a wasn't
some ears pretend to this in a subtle, technical way
voicing out from over the hills but you're never dead
setting up some evenly unpaid opinions that cursed me
fantasy took control in a mind that never doubted trusting
in empathy, they fail and are unfit for even their own sins
teeth chatter, tongues wagging and a mouth so wide
a dictionary fit for one but never for the other two
painful ignorance watches from the sidelines, so sore
so listening to a new type of knowledge not guaranteed
conquer it as it is when you have learned twice is never shy

Some are unwilling/unable to learn from history. Wisdom is doomed in this armosphere of this attitude. Enjoyed reading.
