Each Breath I Take

irishred

EACH BREATH I TAKE

Sitting on the cold dry sand

Silhouettes of passers by

Lit by the full moon

Strolling thru the night.

Lapping waves creep in and out

Leaving deep sea treasures

Hidden by the nights shadows

In the light found by others

A gentle breeze fills the air

Crisp and salty sting my face

Closing my eyes I take a deep breathe

Letting myself be in this space

I watch the distant water ripple

Caught by full moon light

Twinkling like stars on earth

Breaking thru the dark of night.

Cold wet sand seeps between my toes

As I walk along the quiet shore

Waves still creeping in and out

Chills me to my core

Pull up my collar around my face

The salty breeze tossing my hair

Stuff my hands in pockets for warmth

Letting go of worries and cares.

Standing still water around my ankles

I look across the mighty sea

A serene calm comes when I close my eyes

Close my eyes and breathe.

Each breath I take diminishes my fears

Each breath I take cleanses my soul

Each breath I take clears my mind

Each breath I take makes me full.
