Stars

writemeasmile

Take refuge in the stars I have given you.

Hold them close, hold me close,

And when I fade out,

Let the stars

Take my

Place.

A thousand stars, I know full well

Can never suffice, but perhaps

That is my exact reason

For my giving them to you.

Selfish, but if you had seen darkness like I have seen darkness

You would know the importance of starlight,

Even in its most hopeless state.

Let the stars

Take my

Place.

I want to be missed so much that you contemplate

Joining me.

Selfish, but if you had experienced irrelevance

Like I have experienced irrelevance,

You would feel the desperate desire for simple existence.

Take refuge in the stars I have given you,

A thousand material goodbyes,

Coded; the enigma of my love,

A present love, a future and a past love

Drawn out by a string of five-point words.

Let the stars take my place, and take refuge within them.
