A traveler kept pace, over rough ground
Who had long left the path, in wake of him
Beneath wide skies, this canopy of dripping green and damper brown
Where those slick, dark willow trees
Or tough old oaks, lift their branches slim
And leaves like feather down

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem, written today, I dedicate to Walter De La Mare. In the same fashion that, even though no tree ever bows for a man, they would sing to Robert Frost. In that way, if you know, I doff my hat to him. A truly inspiring poet, I shall say his name once more, Walter De La Mare. And thrice, we are done, Walter De La Mare.
