The Last Lap.

Zwitterion

The bell has sounded

for the end.

And I am in

my last lap.

My clouded eyes

do not see far,

but see horizons

closing in.

I do not know

if I'm running,

or memories

are flashing past.

I do not want

a helping hand

to aid me cross

the finish line.

i've always loved

my friends about,

but this I want

to do alone.
