Light, Angels, & Wings

Light, Angels, & Wings

There once was a girl
Pain filled her life
It was all she'd ever known
But she hid behind a smile
And loved her friends with all her heart
Her friends were all the same
Like her
Painful lives
And happy memories
But one day
A girl walked in the room
Immediately light spread throughout
It was like an aura of light
Surrounding the girl
Though it shone
amongst the room
It lit up every pain filled
Hiding behind a smile, face
The first girl and her friends
Befriended the strange light
And though they did not mean to
They changed her
And she changed them
Whenever they tried to keep their pain from her
In order not to hurt her
For she was the only truly beautiful thing to them
Her light would shine brighter
And they would tell her all their secrets
A little at a time
It made her light dimmer
But there's shone brighter
And they didn't know which one to sacrifice
They felt awful
But kept receiving what she was giving
They tried to stop
But her love was like a drug
She took their secrets and pain
And made them ok
She didn't talk
Just listened and understood
How could she possibly understand
They thought
But their pain and struggles and secrets became her own
And she needed to fix them
But there wasn't any way
Sometimes
The light was blinding
Or just right
Other times it was extremely dim
But none the less
All these days
Changed and affected
Everyone
One day
When the girl walked in
Her light was gone
And her head held low
But she tried
With all her heart
To make it better
She used her heart
Not head
But nothing worked
Often times
She gave up
But then worked
So very hard
To fix it all
And it worked for some time
Then all fell apart again
All her light given to the ones she loved
But she did not see this as a bad thing
They did
They took the blame
And tried to give her light back
But it never worked
Her light was gone
For a long time
Until
One day
When everything changed
The girl walked into the room
With a smile on her face
And the light was there
And filling up it's space
Was the most magnificent, exquisite
Pair of wings
She seemed to be floating
Just barely above the ground
With a golden halo hanging above her head
Her brown hair
cascaded down around her shoulders
And down her back
Her brown eyes
Looked like stars in a midnight sky
And her tan skin
Shone brighter
Than ever before
You see
She was just and only
An Angel in disguise
And she needed to help them
In order to help herself grow
So she took and defeated their demons
And wore the scars
As wings
