Even after rehab, still in my veins
Yet you won't just flush away
No more detox or confinement will help
Brain damaged and eyes burned
With damage done permanent, aimed your gun at my heart
Bullet still stuck in the wound
Can't stop my bleeding, yet you twist and poke
Write in my agony and dance in your victory
It's okay though
I'll just use improper anesthesia to walk forward
Through brick wall, through brick wall
Would you be so kind to aim for my head next time?
Save my grace for tomorrow
Because I'll be there
Like always
But never there again

- Comment from author about the poem: About how certain types of heartbreak or betrayal, even small, can really stay with you and even if it wasn't the person or memories that hurt, it's that feeling of pain they opened up and caused.
