Should-a, Would-a, Could-a

Should have been something,

Might have been everything.

Probably wasn’t anything

And most likely nothing.

 

Would have been happiness,

Might even have been true.

Probably was just hopelessness,

And most likely a lie.

 

Could have been promising,

Or may even have been love.

Instead it was emptiness,

That I regrettably have chosen.
