Forgetting.

Zwitterion

Having so long

lived and held

your memories

as a crutch,

how must I

now move away

and pretend

you never were?

How must I

now teach myself

to remember

to forget?

How to live

this faking and

oblivion make

from memory?

With you expelled

from my being,

how must I

remain myself?

How must you

so etched in me,

from my soul

be erased?
