Head aching
Heart disintegrating
Make-up running
Swollen eyes
Slowing through the day
Sleep
Disrupted
Nightmares
Empty heart
Empty mind
Empty hands
It use to sit right there
Left hand
On that ring finger
That shiny white gold band
Symbolizing
Promise
Love
A future
Infinity
Now it sits
In a black velvet box
Reminding me
Of failure

disaster

A creative imaginative poem on a common situation in many parts of the world. Doleful and saddening but the talent at freeverse and poetic elements ought to cheer and compensate. Maybe it's time to hook another, as there's plenty fish in the sea. Kudos.
