Fairytale

Del Legs

were out there somewhere still, cryogenically kept
hoping still to oneday thaw if ever for the best
and i could lift the moon straight out
in space
and weight
and time.
forever stop the oceans, if forever you'd be mine.
theres time to grace both two of us if truth were to be told
still you haunt the pillow next to me, the heart lead-heavy ghost
a faint reflection in the glass brings chills of contact imminent
a distant memory edging closer shatters all resilience
this pain was never meant, im sure, to bring us to our best
yet here i stand and you do too still wringing from the test
a pain that props, not drops, for you is all i can give
a love that defies would have lied and that was not for us to live
keep sweet, my true, and i shall do the same
and if we meet in fortune, you'll always be the name.
