Life’s Presence
Life is brief
As sudden as a baby's first gasping breath
and gone faster than an elderly man's last shaking exhale
It goes by much different speeds for us
But in the whirlwind
And chaos
There is peace
Andhappiness
Life is riddled
And hope
All often overlooked
By the troubles in the world
Though life’s presence
Is always there
There is love
A warm feeling of pure ecstasy
And the sound of laughter
That fills a household
Those moments are what define us
And it is what will always
Be left of us
Though life is brief
You legacy lives on
Through your loved ones
And whose lives you touched
It is true
We destroy
Hurt
And cause sorrow
But we create
Cherish
We flourish
Thriving and growing
Causing joy and peace
So when you worry about how your life is slipping away
Know that death is just a new beginning
A new day
A new life
Live, love, and be loved
And as the sun sets
Close your eyes and rest
Because you have to be ready
For when the sun will rise again
