Ex nihilo

Where the loaves of wood

They put on the fire drew the

Lion and the unicorn up in

Convections crowded with

Monarchs and kingdoms tall

As chimneys swept by boys

Indentured to fire and guilds

Of dough needed by the strata

Of the people

Hooray and up she went into the flu,

The embers ruddy as forgotten plums

Fought over by lions in the mane

Then the fire went down and they threw

More bread on it. Then the bread went down

As the hunger of the people rose

And the flames revolved

This was called revolution

Then we drank tea and ate silence

Bigger than the architects of history.

This was a tapestry.

This is how wood and people

Become other things.
