And I don't want it back

Yes, you stole my heart

Faster than I imagined

any one person could

It is there in my heart

Where I keep you now

Hoping I can look at you

And see our love

Reflected back somehow

I look for balance

There is a chance

This might be

the greatest love of all

I wonder then why

We both back away

from the fall

I reach out

you roll away

I don't like

when things

get that way

Sometimes I think

We might just need

a break

But the thought

of not having you

with me

is more than I can take

So I am resigned

To staying

right here

Hoping the distance

will breathe in

new air

So that all resistance

melts away

And we get all wrapped

back up in each other
