Mama

Abu Aeesh

OK!!.. Whenever I try to put black in white

Whenever I place my pen on a paper to write

About the Queen who brought home lilywhite

And struggle to put it through the needle eye

Just to make me the perfect dress.

And long after the night announces

the presence of the 'drowning sleep'

She bravely wakes up just to pray for me

The Queen who makes sure she draws the light near

And makes sure the dancing devil at the corner of my eyes disappear

Whenever I try to write about her, words fail me

Because no piece of poetry will do her justice

May Allah bless and protect her

May Allah grant our mothers Paradise
