Where is the join on this far off horizon,
beautiful deep blue, joins earth onto sky.
Sand in my toes, walking barefoot this shoreline,
a fluttering flag, the breeze keeping its time.
The sun's burning hot, it's melting my ice cream,
running all down my arm, My minds in a dream.
White waves are crashing, up onto the sand dunes,
young toddlers paddling ,holding tight to dad's hand.
The gulls overhead, watch the beach for their next meal,
spot an abandoned picnic, just waiting there for a steal.
At the waters edge, I watch the sea and the sand meet,
rolling out like a carpet, lapping up near my feet.
The sun's easing down, dropping down in the ocean,
that bright golden orb, disappears under the sea.
Getting up to leave, I feel a chill now the sphere's gone,
wandering back to my car, the days thoughts tag along....

- Comment from author about the poem: I spent a day a few years ago alone at the seaside. Walking along the shoreline was Absolutly fantastic. I love being there with my family but that day alone Was brilliant. I sat in a pub by the beach and wrote This poem......
