Grass Aint Greener

SabreLi

I thought you’d always be by my side
Never thought I’d see the day
I’d see my life was built on lies,
See the foundations fall away

And though you’ve left me so distraught
In pieces on the floor
I hope you’ve found what you had sought
And you won’t run no more

It’s so much easier to deal with all the anger I feel
I’m fine being callous and cold
But when you’re hurt & upset you can’t forgive or forget
Stuck in an emotional black hole

There roses are red and violets blue
Yellow buttercups and daffodils too
But how long will it take you to realise
That the grass ain’t greener on the other side

I thought you’d always be by my side
Will justice never prevail?
Will I be forced to live out my life
Forever with this betrayal?

And though you’ve not exactly caught
The best hand of the game
I hope the joy it may have brought
Is worth the price we’ve paid

It’s so much easier to deal with all the anger I feel
I’m fine being callous and cold
But when you’re hurt & upset you can’t forgive or forget
Stuck in an emotional black hole

There roses are red and violets blue
Yellow buttercups and daffodils too
But how long will it take you to realise
That the grass ain’t greener on the other side
