Once Upon a Stolen Life

Elegant_Style

A log pops in the fire

and I hold you tighter

in the cold darkness.

When I leave

your smell will go with me

into the deep night

and I will have the impression

of you

in my arms.

Alas, this moment will not last forever

and my heart will

eventually fail.

One cold winter

my mind will not remember

your voice,

and its sweet melody of water and bells.

I apologize now

for my short-spanned life.

My life has been stolen,

by the age

of the empires.

If only we lived forever,

I would never let you go...
